Employers Need Technical Talent

As technology ramps up across industry sectors, the demand for industry technicians and technologists will continue to grow.  Unmudl can help your college ramp up to meet technician and technologist needs through the Skills-to-Jobs® Marketplace.

At CNM, we’re excited about working with Unmudl to offer credentials that truly reflect the full scope of skills and experiences our working learners offer to employers. It's about creating pathways that recognize prior learning and make it easier for students to gain the credentials they need to advance in their careers.

The Challenges

Community and technical colleges work to help industries meet these needs by providing training, but they struggle to keep up with the increasing need and overcome the challenge of finding skilled instructional staff and access to training facilities.

Problem

The need for technical talent has grown so quickly that employers face huge challenges hiring and retaining workers. As AI evolves, this need is anticipated to grow at an even faster pace. Even when colleges offer programming to meet employer needs, they cannot enroll and complete enough learners to meet the increasing demands. Some companies have started training in-house through apprenticeships, internships, and company–led training, but this model removes already limited talent from the floor. National and international companies face even more challenges as they struggle with the consistency of training that is offered near their facilities.

Solution

The Unmudl Skills-to-Jobs® Marketplace

The Unmudl Skills-to-Jobs® Marketplace is founded and supported by community and technical colleges, and is designed to help community and technical colleges provide an easy on-ramp for working learners who are interested in technician training. Learners can start any time. There is no need to wait until the next term or academic year to start training. Learners don’t have to navigate an application process, registration, financial aid, etc. Getting into a course is as easy as ordering a pair of shoes from Amazon!

IN-PERSON LAB OPPORTUNITIES

Meet Local Hiring Needs Through In-Person Lab Opportunities

Technical training often requires a hands-on component, providing learners with the opportunity to apply the foundational knowledge and skills they gain through online training. At Unmudl, we work with community and technical colleges to develop in-person labs where the jobs are. We identify the hiring need, build a population of learners who have successfully completed foundational training, and work with local colleges to develop and offer access to an in-person lab.
