Introduction to CNC Machinist is a 40- hour online, self-paced course, which a part of a CNC Machinist skill path. This pathway gives you the foundational skills needed to begin work in the in-demand field of machining. Introduction to CNC Machinist focuses on industrial safety; print reading, dimensioning, measurement, and tools; mechanical systems; and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
This course uses formal learning, videos, and hands-on virtual simulations. It is assessed by a final quiz on each individual module. Learners need to achieve 80% or higher on each final quiz to successfully complete the course and will have three attempts to pass each quiz. Learners can work at their own pace, and a learner who spends 10 hours a week on the course will complete the course in approximately 4 weeks.
After This Course, You Will Be Able To1. Analyze and select mechanical drive systems (including belt drives, chain drives, V-belt drives and multiple shaft gear drives). 2. Classify hand tools and basic and precision measurement tools 3. Define, understand and troubleshoot fluid systems, components and operation (including hydraulic and pneumatic systems). 4. Practice safety procedures and identify hazards in a machining environment 5. Demonstrate understanding mechanical print reading (including basic part dimensioning, assembly drawings, and precision dimensioning).Skills you will learn
