This 46-hour, self-paced online course is the first course in the Multi-Craft Skill Path. Develop your technical knowledge and skills through formal learning, video, and virtual simulations. This course gives a strong foundation in the fundamentals of advanced manufacturing, including mathematics, safety, tools and components, measurement, technical drawings, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.

The Multi-Craft Skill Path includes:

  • Multi-Craft Technician: Level 1 (online)
  • Multi-Craft Technician: Level 1 Lab (in-person in Georgia)
  • Multi-Craft Technician: Level 2 (online)
  • Multi-Craft Technician: Level 2 Lab (in-person in Georgia)
After This Course, You Will Be Able To
Describe and perform basic operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Describe the importance and procedures for safety in the advanced manufacturing workplace, including machine safety, fire and electrical safety, work area safety, PPD, confined spaces, and rigging. Describe the use of basic hand and power tools and fasteners. Describe dimensional and caliper measurement and perform measurement conversions. Describe and read a variety of technical and multiview drawings. Describe and demonstrate how to connect electrical circuits, conduct circuit analysis, and determine the effect of inductors and capacitors in circuits. Describe the function of electric motor control systems including control transformers, ladder logic, relays, and motor starters. Describe the function and operation of electronic sensors and design circuits given an application. Describe the function and operation of mechanical power systems including v-belt drives, chain drives, and spur gear drives.
