CBRE is seeking a skilled and driven FM Engineering Ops Manager to support one of the world's most influential American technology companies-a global leader in AI computing and graphics processing. This is a high-visibility opportunity based in Santa Clara, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring the seamless performance, reliability, and evolution of complex, mission-critical facilities that power cutting-edge innovation.
In this role, you'll lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team while overseeing day-to-day facility operations, asset management systems, and contractor performance. You'll balance hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership-owning operational excellence, financial performance, compliance, and client relationships in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
Overnight Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8pm-4am
What You'll Do:
  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Communicate well with team members and provide regular updates to Engineering Ops Director.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Assist team with operations and maintenance issues.
  • Direct contractors, subcontractors, engineers and technicians on the entire maintenance aspect.
  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of facility controls and asset management systems.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders. Provide technical expertise on client projects.
  • Manage the profits and losses of the department or a specific division.
  • Develop goals and initiatives to direct the department's course.
  • Guide managers in implementing company initiatives and policies.
  • Evaluate company processes and procedures to solve issues within them.
  • Ensure business operations are implemented based on established procedures.
  • Keep track of regulatory records and paperwork. Support preparation of annual operating budgets. Evaluate, forecast, and manage operations and maintenance costs.
  • Support operational analysis of all engineering related performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Membership of an engineering related professional body, i.e. CIBSE/IEE preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, BMS, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • Ability to navigate CMMS (work orders management) system, use AI tools to optimize efficiency, Coupa and similar software tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial related calculations

The minimum salary for the FM Engineering Ops Manager position is $180,000 annually and the maximum salary is $190,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
