Lead Floor Technician- 3rd Shift

Job Description Summary

The Floor Tech/Shift Lead will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of floor care duties for C&W Services. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services

Job Description

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces.
  • Use light and heavy (commercial type) floor (buffers) and shampoo machines including attachments.
  • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed.
  • Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
  • Performs periodic work: strip and refinish VCT, extract carpet, top scrub and recoat VCT, operate rider scrubber in plant area.
  • Training all appropriate personnel on sanitation procedures
  • Develop sanitation procedures for new equipment new plant areas as needed
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining sanitation procedures and programs for areas assigned
  • Develop and implement sanitation SOPs and specific training for sanitation
  • Review sanitary procedures and recommend or change as needed
  • Builds the team by developing hourly sanitation associates

*Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a floor care technician
  • Experience supervising three or more workers
  • Must be able to direct delegate and assign tasks to janitorial and sanitation employees
  • Must be able to take direction, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Use floor buffer, floor burnisher, rider scrubber, auto-scrubber, carpet spotter, carpet extractor, floor cleaning and finishing equipment.
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $16.15 - $19.00
