Shaw offers free wellness and nutrition coaching. Our expert wellness coaches and dietitians collaborate with you to assess and co-create a wellness plan, utilizing your motivators and strengths and identifying potential barriers to set long-term and short-term goals. Additionally, Shaw will pay you up to $800 annually for completing healthy activities, including getting an annual physical, participating in free wellness and nutrition coaching, going to the gym, and more!

Position Overview:The Work-Based Learning Industrial Maintenance Intern will work alongside experienced technicians and Shaw Technical Academy trainers to learn the fundamentals of industrial maintenance, automation, and mechatronics systems. This internship is designed to provide exposure to real-world applications of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work with Shaw Technical Academy trainers to learn and practice technician skills.</li><li>Assist Shaw Technical Academy on projects related to mechanical, electrical, and automation skills, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.</li><li>Support preventive maintenance activities on machinery and automated systems.</li><li>Learn and apply basic principles of mechatronics, including robotics, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and sensors.</li><li>Maintain a clean and safe work environment following Shaw Industries’ safety standards.</li><li>Participate in job shadowing and hands-on training sessions to develop technical skills.</li><li>Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure shop safety, including painting, cleaning machinery, etc.</li><li>Document work performed and report issues to supervisors as needed.</li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li>Current high school senior enrolled in or having successfully completed a technical or vocational program at a Georgia College &amp; Career Academy (preferred focus: Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field).</li><li>Strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems, automation, and manufacturing technology; desire to be a maintenance technician as a profession (post-high school).</li><li>Basic computer skills.</li><li>Self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial setting.</li><li>Good communication skills and willingness to learn.</li><li>Must be at least 17 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.</li></ul> Schedule:<ul><li>Part-time hours (flexible to accommodate school schedule).
