Are you interested in craft beers, home brewing, or maybe opening your own microbrewery? Come to the new SUNY Broome microbrewery facility to learn the process from start to finish. Discover how the history of brewing goes hand in hand with the development of human civilization. Learn the basic steps and science behind the brewing of beer

After This Course, You Will Be Able To

Get hands on experience in:

  • Milling
  • Mashing
  • Lautering
  • Boiling
  • Hopping
  • Fermentation
  • Carbonation
  • Bottling

You can observe, or participate if you wish, in brewing a batch of beer using our new 3 bbl microbrewery system. The various types of beers, water chemistry, and measurement of pH, specific gravity, and calculation of alcohol content will also be discussed.
