Maintenance Engineering - PLC Night Shift

General Summary
The specialist is responsible for assisting group leaders and team members with repetitive and chronic equipment problems. The specialist is also responsible for implementing and maintaining maintenance documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and assist group leader with shift-to-shift follow-up activities.
- Establish and implement a maintenance downtime report system. Execute action plans to achieve maintenance downtime targets.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all environmental rules.
- Assist maintenance group with managing key maintenance indicators such as budget, downtime, manpower, preventive maintenance, spare parts, and computerized system.
- Monitor and control spare parts purchasing and usage through SAP, control spare part inventory levels through spare part audits, organize warehouse storage area by creating ben locations for new equipment and ordering new equipment parts for system upgrades. Create equipment numbers and bar codes for equipment location storage.
- Execute the maintenance department’s action plan to achieve the yearly operation plan. Make self-available during off shift for technical support.
- Assist Weld Shop with HMI and PLC modifications with existing and new equipment, assist production with new model teams and improve shop efficiency through breakdown recovery and countermeasures.
- Manage internal and external contractors for shop issues including fabrication of parts, overhauling of equipment, manipulation of CAD drawings and modifying of equipment for machine improvements.
- Train team members on new equipment and new technology including PLC and specific machine operations. Train team members on specific troubleshooting and develop training material for team member level progressions. Develop one-point lessons and work standards for team members to increase troubleshooting efficiency and decrease machine downtime.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field along with two (2) to (5) years’ experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (preferably Allen Bradley, Logix/Studio-5000).
- Experience with automation, design, installation, repair of equipment and Robotics.
- Ability to understand schematics and specifications of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to train new Team Members with PLC operations and troubleshooting.
