Job Position: Straw Machine Operator - 12 Hours Night Shift Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA Reports To: Production Supervisor Job Summary: Responsible for operating straw extruders and or wrappers in a safe manner, ensuring quality product is produced and packaged into finished cases. Reviews operations of straw machine line(s), quality checks, packing and troubleshooting of manufacturing machine(s) that produce plastic straw products. Job Responsibilities:
Perform timely checks to ensure that only quality product is manufactured.
Maintains established cycle settings on assigned machines to ensure production quantity
Stops production in the event inferior product is being produced.
Perform all assigned quality tests to measure the quality of the product being made (i.e. straw length, diameter testing, color testing and straightness of product). This requires frequent fingering and handling of the product to inspect for defects.
Check order to ensure correct product, boxes, and cartons are being used for scheduled job.
Comply with all safety rules, polices, procedures and practices to include performing lock-out/tag-out of production equipment when required.
Diagnose and determine cause for machine malfunctions along with making operator troubleshoot to assigned machines.
Immediately respond to any defective goods.
Maintains cleanliness in the department accordingly while working in a safe and clean environment at all times.
Fill out labor sheets at end of shift noting production and downtime using the company computer.
Actively supports lean manufacturing activities in the department, and in the plant.
Follows WinCup OPERA values, safety initiatives, GMP, and other related plant standards.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Lead, Production Supervisor or Department Manager.
Job Qualifications & Experience:Education - High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience - Two years in a manufacturing environment tending a production machine preferred Skills - Mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills. Must be ability to read, write and speak English Competencies:
Ability to follow directives with STM leadership, managers, supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.
Ensures all company policies and procedures including manufacturing and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Collaboration with plant and safety leadership.
Ability to complete mandated new manufacturing training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies.
Supports all current and new product introductions.
Physical Demands:
In-doors in a manufacturing environment that is not air-conditioned.
Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
Work a 12-hour shift that begins at 6:50 p.m for nightshifts
Required to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.

Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
Wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
Work an 8+ or 12+ hour shift while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, use hands to finger, grasp with hands and arms, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and lifting throughout the entire shift.
Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods that weight up to 25 pounds.
