Position summary:

The Team Leader's main responsibility is to supply all the lines with minimal downtime, direct Maintenance associates and dispatch them to needed areas, and plan and execute work.

Educational requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school certificate preferred

Skills and experience:

  • Must be skilled at a Multi-Craft level
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Training and experience in Mechanical and Electrical fields
  • Five years experience in Industrial Manufacturing
  • Welding Fabrication
  • Machinist skills preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving history report
  • Ability to meet license requirements for Powered Industrial Trucks (Lift trucks, JLG's, Scissor Lift's)

Essential duties:

  • Directs Maintenance associates to needed areas of replacement or repair of machines
  • Assigns PM's and Work Orders to technicians which have been assigned to his/her shift
  • Ensures associates report to work daily and timely and notifies Supervisor of any issues
  • Keep log books in working and understandable order
  • Communicate with Planner/Scheduler and/or supply room for parts needed
  • Directs technicians to troubled areas
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems
  • Trains and communicate with new Maintenance Technicians
  • Drive company truck to various Interface locations as well as to supply companies
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations
  • Be aware of departmental Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and LOTO procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Be familiar with Interface's Environmental & Quality policies
  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
  • Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.
  • While performing any overhead work or task that creates metal shavings/foreign debris you must take all necessary precautions to prevent material from getting in the carpet

Physical demands:

  • Lifting a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Standing for long periods of time

Work environment:

  • Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment
  • Work areas include but are not limited to: electrical panel, power distribution switchgear, breaker panel, etc... which requires PPE that is provided by the company.
