Location: Southern Mill, Beer Bank - Athens, Ga Job Family: Sr. Specialist

Reports To: Packaging Manager Exemption: Non-Exempt

Position Purpose: The Packaging Specialist Repack Lead focuses on leading the repack team to achieve high standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, making safety a priority.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety regulations and escalate issues for discipline when necessary.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.

Quality Control and Operations:

  • Perform quality checks frequently throughout the run to ensure the highest level of quality for product intended including legible dates on cartons, in-spec dates, and properly FIFO'd product for repack.
  • Start up, operate, and shut down repack machinery including the Switchback Brewpack 200, printer, and conveyance.
  • Perform basic PMs on Switchback and printer and perform general maintenance and troubleshooting to solve problems quickly.
  • Responsible for executing all changeovers, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all repack runs with support from Packaging Maintenance when needed.
  • Send accurate End of Day reporting e-mails to the appropriate parties and assist the warehouse in keeping inventory of all products intended for repack.

Team Leadership:

  • Train team members on start-up, running, shut down, and common troubleshooting procedures of all repack equipment.
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Packaging Manager to read Obeer daily and understand how many and which SKUs are to be repacked for shipment.
  • Oversee the repack team and ensure the team is on track to complete assigned packaging each week.
  • Delegate responsibility to the team when not actively running the repack line to assist other areas of warehouse or production with general tasks, such as dunnage cleaning and organization, baling cans, dumping kegs, stacking small market orders, and other general cleaning.
  • Collaborate with the Packaging Manager and Snow Tire production to assist with RTD canning runs when needed and available.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and participate in the hiring process for the repack team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of working in a high-speed manufacturing and/or brewery production with an emphasis on team leadership and/or supervisory roles.
  • Strong skills in people management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced understanding of packaging machinery and processes.
  • Proven track record of maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Tolerance for hot, cold, and noisy conditions.
