Description
Are you ready to bring your CNC Machining skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled CNC Machine Operators like you!
What You’ll Do:
- CNC Operation: Set up full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe and Mill machines for tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeding, milling and live tooling.
- Machine Optimization: Optimize setup times, improve productivity, maintain offsets, and maximize machine utilization.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand blueprints and route instructions.
- GD&T Application: Apply expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Program Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot programs and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspection Process: Follow in-process part inspection protocols and report non-conformance issues to the Supervisor/Lead.
- Collaborative Communication: Coordinate with superintendents, managers, production control, and quality personnel to resolve quality concerns.
- Safety Compliance: Work safely and consistently wear required PPE throughout the shift.
- Shift Documentation: Record and document issues for a seamless shift transition.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance checks and document findings.
What You'll Bring:
- Measurement Proficiency: Knowledge of calipers, gauges, and other required measuring tools.
- Math Skills: Strong proficiency in basic math.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately document machining procedures.
- Tooling Knowledge: Familiarity with metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling.
- Machine Experience: Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred).
- Communication: Basic oral communication skills and the ability to read, comprehend, and complete logs and reports in English.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components.
- Policy Compliance: Availability to work scheduled hours and adhere to all company policies, including timekeeping.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment and stand for an entire shift.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining practices, materials, and general mechanical principles.
- Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to be trained and a desire to learn new skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliability: Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
