Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Cloud Engineering to lead the design, development, and operation of scalable cloud platforms across multiple public cloud providers and private infrastructure. This role is responsible for building high‑performing engineering teams, driving cloud and hybrid strategy, and enabling secure, reliable, and cost‑effective infrastructure to support enterprise and product workloads.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in at least two public clouds, a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform, proven experience leading engineering teams, and hands‑on knowledge of hybrid architectures that enable seamless traffic movement between private and public cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Hybrid Platform Architecture

  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and operation of multi‑cloud and hybrid platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure with on‑prem/private cloud integration).
  • Design solutions that enable seamless, secure traffic flow between private infrastructure and public cloud environments, supporting workload mobility, resiliency, and migration.
  • Define and evolve cloud landing zones, reference architectures, and shared services aligned with security, reliability, and scalability best practices.
  • Partner with network and security teams on connectivity models (e.g., private interconnects, VPNs, routing, traffic engineering).

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Own Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and practices across cloud and hybrid environments, leveraging tools such as Python, Terraform, Ansible, and similar frameworks.
  • Drive automation for provisioning, configuration management, and policy enforcement across private and public cloud platforms.
  • Ensure repeatable, auditable, and reliable infrastructure deployments.

Engineering Leadership

  • Build, lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing Cloud Engineering organization.
  • Establish clear technical direction, operating principles, and success metrics.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead hiring, performance management, and career development.

Reliability, Operations & Cost Management

  • Establish strong operational practices, including incident management, change management, and post‑incident reviews across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Drive cloud and hybrid cost optimization (FinOps), capacity planning, and usage transparency.
  • Balance performance, resiliency, and cost across distributed environments.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with application, platform, SRE, security, and network teams to enable cloud adoption and hybrid workload migration.
  • Collaborate with finance, procurement, and leadership to align infrastructure investments with business priorities.
  • Act as a technical leader and advisor to senior stakeholders on cloud and hybrid strategy.
