Position Overview
We are seeking two highly capable AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) Technicians to support commissioning, integration, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of large-scale industrial robotic systems.
These technicians will work hands-on in our test lab and production environment performing mechanical assembly validation, electrical checkout, system commissioning, troubleshooting, structured testing, and pre-FAT verification. This role is critical to ensuring our AGV systems meet customer, safety, and performance requirements before shipment.
This is not a basic assembly role — this is a high-responsibility technical position supporting complex robotic platforms used in advanced industrial environments.
Job Description
Mechanical & Structural Validation
- Perform final mechanical inspections of AGV assemblies
- Verify torque specifications, fastener integrity, and structural alignment
- Conduct frame, rack, and chassis validation checks
- Support load testing and structural verification activities
- Identify and document mechanical non-conformances
Electrical & Controls Checkout
- Perform electrical continuity checks and harness verification
- Assist with power-up procedures and safe energization of units
- Validate sensor functionality (encoders, proximity sensors, limit switches, etc.)
- Support I/O testing and system verification
- Troubleshoot wiring, component faults, and integration issues
Commissioning & Pre-FAT Testing
- Support initial AGV commissioning and startup
- Execute structured test protocols prior to Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
- Conduct motion testing and safety verification
- Verify communication between AGV and control systems
- Document test results and support corrective action
Test Lab & Validation Support
- Execute repeatable validation procedures in lab environment
- Support simulation testing and functional verification
- Assist engineers in performance benchmarking and root cause investigations
- Capture test data and provide structured feedback to engineering
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Record test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
- Support development and refinement of work instructions
- Maintain clean, organized test areas and documentation discipline
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Robotics Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology or equivalent hands-on technical experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Experience using multimeters, torque tools, basic diagnostic tools
- Comfortable working around industrial equipment
- Strong troubleshooting mindset
- High attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AGVs, robotics, or automated systems
- PLC, CODESYS, RFID Scanner, LIDAR, general sensor/laser familiarity (basic troubleshooting level)
- Industrial safety training (OSHA preferred)
- Commissioning or FAT experience
- Experience working in a structured test or validation environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work around large industrial equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Standing, kneeling, and working in mechanical spaces
- Working around powered equipment and battery systems
