Description

Job purpose:
The Welder will perform SMAW and FCAW welding and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
·        Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
·        Inspect work and fixtures, work from blueprints, and set up and weld parts as called for by shop drawings.
·        Set and maintain proper welding temperatures, wire feeds, and gas setting to produce quality welds.
·        Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated, damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
·        Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

Qualifications and Work experience:
·        High School diploma or GED preferred.
·        Basic understanding of the use of measuring tools, welding techniques, and manufacturing process.
·        Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:
·        Work ethic should display honesty, integrity and a good attitude.
·        Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
·        Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
·        Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
