
Fast Track to Electrician

Course Details
The Electrical Fast Track consists of four courses. UBCT-107 Basic Safety, Hand & Power Tools, Blueprint Reading and UBCT 105 Professionalism in Service, Construction Math, Basic Rigging are virtual courses, which means you will engage with your instructor during regularly scheduled class time in an online format.  On the start date of your course, login to your MyPima account and click "Access D2L" under QuickLinks. UBCT 172 Electrical Systems is hybrid. Students obtain basic knowledge in the online classroom then demonstrate skills each week in a 4 hour lab.
Course Fees are inclusive of text, laboratory materials and certification tests (NCCER Core Certification and Electrical I).
Concepts and procedures for building and construction electrical training. Includes safety, conduit bending, electrical theory, test equipment, National Electric Code, aceways, boxes, and fittings, print reading, and wiring applications.
After This Course, You Will Be Able ToUpon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe electrical safety procedures on the job site.
- Perform conduit bending requirements.
- Demonstrate the use of anchors and supports.
- Describe the use of electrical theory, including Ohm's law series and parallel circuits for direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC).
- Demonstrate the use of electrical test equipment.
- Discuss the layout and types of information found in the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Explain raceways, boxes, and fittings.
- Describe the types and applications of conductors.
- Read electrical prints.
- Perform commercial and industrial wiring.
- Perform residential wiring.
