This certification has wide application with employers that have an information technology department or technological capacity. Four courses in six months: Critical Thinking, Network Essentials, Oral Communication and Google IT Certification.
After This Course, You Will Be Able ToUpon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

4.   Describe the process of creating an application.
5.   Describe five layer model of computer networks.
6.   Describe the standard protocols involved with TCP/IP communications.
7.   Explain DNS and DHCP.
8.   Select tools and techniques to troubleshoot network problems.
9.   Explain cloud computing.
10.  Navigate Windows and Linux file systems.
11.  Set up users, groups and permissions for account access.
12.  Install, configure and remove software.
13.  Configure disk partitions and file systems.
14.  Identify common infrastructure services.
15.  Manage infrastructure servers.
16.  Manage network computers and users using directory services, active directory and Open LDAP.
17.  Backup organization data and recover IT infrastructure.
18.  Recognize benefits and limitation of encryption algorithms and techniques.
19.  Describe authentication systems and types.
20.  Evaluate potential risks and recommend ways to reduce risk.

The Google IT course in this series is instructor-led, however, students may work faster if they want to complete the course in less than four months. Students will receive log-on information for Pima Community College, learning management system (D2L). All four classes are offered through the online format with instructor guidance.
