Unmanned Vehicle Systems - Ground Flight School (FAA Part 107 Prep Course)

In this 8-week course, students will learn the Federal Aviation Administration Guidelines necessary to obtain your FAA Remote Pilot license to fly a drone. Students who complete this class will have the basic knowledge on the FAA Guidelines on Aviation Weather, Airport Operations, Load and Performance, Risk Assessment, and National Airspace System. This is a test prep course for the FAA Part 107 licensing exam.

• Demonstrate knowledge of the FAA Remote examination Airman Certification Standard by passing the FAA exam.
• Identify major components of an aircraft, including UAS
• Understand how to make good aeronautical decisions and manage the risk of UAS operations.
• Recognize regulations, laws, and policies pertaining to the use of UASs.
• Articulate the fundamental physical laws governing the forces acting on an aircraft
• Identify and describe the four forces that act on an aircraft during flight
• Understand the effects of weight and balance on flight
• Identify the major components of the National Airspace System
• Identify weather conditions that may adversely affect the safety of aviation operations including UAS
• List weather advisory resources that can assist in making informed decisions
• Learn about Night Operations for UAS
• Identify the safety requirements for flying over people
