Unmudl pursuing “gold standard” SOC 2 security certification

Unmudl, though a young company, places a strong emphasis on security. Safeguarding customer data is a significant responsibility and remains one of our highest priorities. Starting May 2024, we have initiated our journey towards SOC 2 compliance as part of our ongoing dedication to providing our customers with a secure, professional, and reliable experience. Our goal is to achieve SOC 2 Type I compliance by Q3 2024.

What is SOC 2?

SOC 2 is a set of security standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) specifically for technology companies that manage confidential information through online systems. SOC 2 requires companies to establish and adhere to rigorous information security policies and procedures. Similar to a financial audit, a SOC 2 assessment is conducted by an independent auditor who produces a comprehensive final report.

A SOC 2 Type 1 report evaluates the design of a company’s internal control processes, while a SOC 2 Type 2 report assesses both the design and the operational effectiveness of those control processes.

Unmudl has engaged Thoropass, Inc. (“Thoropass”), an expert compliance platform, to prepare for an AICPA System and Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type 1 audit for the Security Trust Services Criteria.

As part of the audit preparation, Thoropass will conduct a gap assessment and provide a remediation plan that includes policies, procedures, management practices, and the necessary controls to meet the audit requirements.

Unmudl anticipates the SOC 2 Type 1 audit kickoff date to be August 5, 2024. After completing the audit, Unmudl will enter the SOC 2 Type 2 observation period. In case of any queries, please feel free to reach out to security@unmudl.com
