Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a Part-Time CNC Machinist to join our team as an Apprentice for up to one year. This opportunity is ideal for students currently enrolled in high school or a technical school who are looking to gain real-world, hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment — and potentially launch a long-term career with us.


About the Role

As a part-time CNC Machinist, you’ll join our team of experienced machinists and embark on a rewarding journey to becoming a skilled professional. You'll learn alongside a qualified journeyman machinist, gaining hands-on experience with various machining techniques, blueprint reading, and operating sophisticated machinery.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist experienced machinists in setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines (depending on company needs).
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, machining instructions, and other technical specifications.
  • Perform basic machining tasks under close supervision, ensuring parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
  • Assist with material handling, tool setup, and other tasks as directed.
  • Participate in classroom training to learn the theory behind machining processes, mathematics, and measurement.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Enrolled in a technical or trade school program (either high school or technical college) with a completion date of May 2026 or beyond.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance or other industrial trades.
  • Excellent math skills, particularly in geometry and basic algebra.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team and individual environment.

 

Please Note

  • This is a part-time, temporary role (up to 1 year).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • No company benefits are provided during the apprenticeship.
  • This role is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience and potential career pathways.

  • Upon successful completion of the program, there is potential for a full-time Machinist position
