Course Details

Gain hands-on experience using the Microsoft Project application software in the key roles of planning, control and execution. Course topics include setting up projects; entering tasks and resources; linking tasks; setting up and assigning resources; saving a baseline; addressing constraints and deadlines; changing task types; sorting, grouping and filtering; and reporting status.  

Note: Microsoft Project runs on Windows and is not Mac OS compatible.  

After This Course, You Will Be Able To
  • Create and set up Microsoft Project: project titles, start dates, calendars, working times and scheduling mode 
  • Enter and link tasks, including time constraints and deadlines 
  • Create schedules, including formatting Gantt Charts 
  • Define resources and assign to tasks, leveling as necessary 
  • Baseline schedules, track project progress and generate reports 
  • Customize Microsoft Project, including fields, views, ribbons, filters, reports and templates 
  • Create resource pools and consolidated project schedules

Eligibility

  • Prior to taking this course, students must complete Principles of Project Management and Project Planning and Scheduling 
  • Students need to be able to work in a Windows 10 environment   
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is recommended
