Developing an Accessible Course

Accessibility has moved to the forefront of concerns for educators.  Learn how to ensure web-enhanced, hybrid,  and online course material accessibility as well as how to identify disability services, policies, and resources. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Explain the challenges learners with various disabilities experience when accessing web-enhanced, hybrid, or online course materials
• Identify disability services, policies, and resources
• Develop documents that promote readability and universal design
• Develop multimedia materials including video, audio, and images that promote accessibility (e.g., alt text, captioning, transcripts)
• Evaluate documents, software, and websites for accessibility
