Why you should learn a new skill everyday
Skills, Skills, Skills
The day-to-day can get boring. Especially in the middle of a pandemic where everyone is inside all the time. So, why not try something new? I’m a firm believer that if you learn a new skill every day, then there’s no such thing as “the Mondays.”
Here are my top three reasons why you should learn something new every day (and a bonus tip on how Unmudl can help you do that!)
Learning something new…
1. Reduces stress. That’s right, learning a new skill can distract you from an otherwise hectic life and help you break away from your daily routine. Maybe you want to learn yoga? Or how to play an instrument? These can help you channel your excess energy into something relaxing and creative.
2. Boosts confidence. You read that correctly, if you practice a new skill or hobby each and every day, you’ll start to improve. With that improvement comes an improvement in your ego. You’ll start to feel good about yourself and in control when your practice regimen helps you accomplish what was previously unknown to you.
3. Helps your resumé. This one is the most tangible of them all. When you learn a new skill, you gain a new line item on your resumé and that translates into more employer interest and eventually jobs. Having skills in computer programming, online classroom management, or even another language can set you apart from other applicants.
Now where does Unmudl come in? With the learning, of course! Unmudl offers courses from a range of community colleges, where you can build a new skill at your own pace or in scheduled classes, in person or online.
No matter where you are in life, a new skill is always valuable. With Unmudl, you can add that extra bit of value.
